متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
متن کاملControl Structure Design in Process Control Systems
The control configuration problem is discussed. A new algorithm is outlined which gives suggestion on feedback and feedforward control structure given a SISO control loop and some extra measurements. The algorithm is based on simple experiments and leads to a model of the process as a directed graph. The method is illustrated on a few common industrial control problems. Copyright c & 2000 IFAC
متن کاملProcess Modelling in Control Systems
Process modelling is the formal description of the activities undertaken by an organisation. By modelling such processes we can support and improve these activities. Taking a control system development project as an example, we describe how process modelling can be integrated into an EXPRESS based environment using the EXPRESS-P extension to EXPRESS. In order to capture some important aspects o...
متن کاملHybrid Systems in Process Control
Modeling and control of hybrid systems, with particular emphasis on process control applications, are considered in this article. Based on a number of observations on typical mixed discrete and continuous features for such applications, a fairly general model structure for hybrid systems is proposed. This model structure, which clearly separates the open loop plant from the closed loop system, ...
